We use Brightmine's benchmarking tool. It has great source of HE sector data which we can't find in other resources we have access too. So it's very handy.

Very versatile, unlike other big consultancy firms’ products. Especially being able to see live data. So, no problem of missing deadlines. I really like being able to search by job title, and you get to see what's in the data, similar, and the available levels too. I work in the Higher Education sector, and I really like the ability to benchmark against all sectors and HE only, with location drilled down to our needs.

We use Brightmine for a variety of reasons. Personally, I find Brightmine most useful for keeping up to date with employment law changes. Brightmine makes legal transitions much easier by providing tools and resources that we can adapt and implement. I always look forward to attending their well-structured and informative webinars.

You could argue that the information/resources provided by Brightmine could be found elsewhere at no cost. For example, I frequently receive invitations to attend webinars from other businesses, particularly when legislative changes are announced. Some businesses have policies available on their websites, which are helpful to benchmark against, and legal firms often share information about legislative changes.

We use Brightmine to support our HR team with up to date UK employment law guidance, policy templates, and practical advice. It helps us manage risk, ensure compliance, and make confident people decisions across the organisation, particularly in complex or fast moving employee relations scenarios or in the absence of outsourced legal resource.

Likelihood to Recommend

Brightmine is well suited for UK employment law guidance, policy interpretation, and complex employee relations scenarios requiring quick, reliable insight. It is less appropriate for country specific advice outside the UK or for highly bespoke legal matters that require formal external legal counsel. In these cases you would still require external legal counsel.

It's helpful for employers who operate in multiple states and helps to keep companies compliant with changing legal guidelines. It would be particularly helpful for small businesses or start-ups that need a starting point for creating their policies or procedures.

We use Brightmine for state-specific compliance requirements. It's especially helpful in creating and maintaining our employee handbooks and state supplements to the handbooks. We get regular notifications for legal updates, charts with information on specific laws and requirements by state, etc. I've been very happy with Brightmine overall, and it's made compliance much easier for a small company that does business in 13 states.

Brightmine is great for updating handbooks. We're a small company who does business in 13 different states, and sometimes compliance is difficult to keep up with. When legal changes are made in states regarding time off, work breaks, minimum wage, etc. Brightmine will send notices that updates have been made. This is particularly helpful for companies that don't have an HR compliance-specific position.

We use predominately for templates, compliance updates and webinars - this is particularly helpful with all the changes within UK employment law that are upcoming. We largely use for employee relations matters but I also really like using the policy templates to help us with initially drafting policies for the organisation.

When we want to introduce a new policy, it's good getting the barebones from Bright Mine to get an initial draft created. We can then customise to what our organisatin needs/tones.

Employee Relations - good to see what best practice/legalities are and also get templates from BrightMine to ensure that we stay compliant and do the best by our employees.

We use Brightmine at our organisation for updates on legislation with EMEA and to ensure we maintain compliance in our ways of working.

It is great when providing employment advise, ensuring you maintain compliance with ways of working. Checking leave entitlements by country is also very clear, alongside other types of statutory leave and family leave.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

The international offering for China, Chile and India is used to verify country specific employment terms including leave entitlements i.e. sick leave, family friendly leave, contractual payments, leaver processes. The UK content has been used for letter templates particularly regarding family friendly leave entitlements such as shared parental leave, parental leave (unpaid).

It is well suited for providing country-level advice and can give you a good starting point to better understand the rules and regulations of a specific region.

I often require city-specific guidance for China (especially Beijing and Shanghai). I realise the system is limited to country-level guidance, however, providing links to regional information would be helpful.

Brightmine is used for Salary benchmarking annually and for specific jobs. This enables us to keep our pay grades aligned with market rates and thereby to pay fair rates to our employees.
