I write almost daily blog posts on my news website. A plugin like Yoast basically tells you what you need to improve if you hope that the article will rank organically on google: better title, better keywords, phrases, subtitle a ton of various things. What it can do better, and what other tools already do, is using Gen AI to suggest alternatives. Example: my choice of title is extremely bad for some reason, but give me 2-3 other alternatives that Yoast thinks will be better.

I wasn't really seeing the immediate results I had hoped for, but there could be a variety of reasons for that (cookies, caches, etc.). Overall, if you have the time to dedicate and utilize the tool, it's awesome!

For small to medium sites, this wasn't an issue. For larger sites (40,000 posts or more), it caused more problems than it solved to the extent we reverted to a previous version (13.5) and remained there until well after version 15 was released. Be aware that your database will grow more rapidly in size as a result.
We disabled the built-in XML sitemap generator as it caused excessive database usage when creating new maps. For now, we're using a different plugin for that function until the issue has been addressed with Yoast Wordpress SEO Plugins.
