Real feedback from verified users about Wistia's pricing and value

Rating: 9 out of 10

Price point - they made some changes to their pricing model, and while I still feel it is the best value for what you get, non-profit pricing would be nice.

Wistia is more expensive than Vidyard and Vimeo, but the small differences I have found to be worth the additional cost. … They also add on a small monthly charge for each video beyond a certain base amount, which I think is not like the pricing models of other video hosting tools.

What TrustRadius Research Says

Wistia Pricing 2022

How do you plant yourself and your product in front of your ideal customers? One fast and engaging way is using video content.

Whether you are posting it on a website like YouTube or your own platform, you want to show your audience attractive and high-quality commercial videos. You can do this by using a video marketing service like Wistia. You can use them to create and manage your webinars, podcasts, or videos.

How Does Wistia Work?

Wisita is a self-service, video marketing, and video hosting platform. They are a software-as-a-service (SaaS) that small businesses can use to create professional video content.

The product offers a video builder that allows small businesses to create marketing video content that looks professional and engages their target audience.

Popular use cases include those who have never made videos for their business and don’t have a content creation team for video management. Startups and small businesses can also save money by creating and editing their own videos on a platform rather than paying a production company.

Wistia is a great service for beginners and offers helpful resources like their blog. They post videos and articles about how to grow your business and brand online.

If you want to learn more about creating product videos we have an article detailing the cost, efforts, and steps associated with it here.

We also have marketing content for helping you boost the SEO of your YouTube videos and social media presence. See our articles Affordable SEO Tools for YouTube Marketing, and Social Media Marketing Pricing for 2022.

How Much Does Wistia Cost?

Wistia does offer a Free tier in their Pricing model, but from there the cost of their plans escalates fast. The Wistia standard features come with all their subscriptions.

These base components include a customizable video player, embedding and sharing links, as well as relatively advanced analytics capabilities. The best benefit for larger teams is all plans do come with unlimited user seats. Each plan comes with a starting number of videos before you need to pay per video. The Wisita subscriptions are offered both monthly and annually.

Free plan offers startups and small businesses standard features, up to 3 free videos or podcasts, and 200GB of bandwidth. The plan even allows A/B testing for your videos. The cons are Wistia branding and the fact you can’t go too far with the plan. You are only allotted up to 250 channel subscribers without any marketing features, and you’re capped at 3 videos.

This is a good subscription if your team is going into video content with no experience. You will be able to test and learn with the software before spending a regrettable amount of money. If you want to actually be able to grow your online presence right away then you should look at the other tiers.

The Pro plan comes with 10 free videos, your ability to brand Wisita videos, and one Wistia channel. Your channel can be shared with a public Wistia link. Teams also have the option to purchase more videos at 25 cents a pop. This plan allows the trimming option for video editing.

This plan still only allows 250 channel subscribers, but Wisita does include email notifications. If you want to cater to a small, niche audience then this plan can get you far. It’s not good if the goal of your team is to reach broader audiences.

The Advanced subscription is customizable and optimized for more growth. You have everything in Pro, plus 100 free videos, multiple Wisitia channels, and 1 premium integration with CRMs like HubSpot, Pardot, or Marketo.

The ability to integrate with popular marketing tools can definitely take your team farther on social media. This plan also has priority support and integrations with Google and Facebook. The best use cases for this subscription are teams with an established online presence that they expect to grow rapidly.

What Is A Wistia alternative?

Vidyard is another popular video building, hosting, and editing platform. They have many of the same features as Wistia like

In comparison to Wistia’s freemium tier, Vidyard allows users to have up to 25 videos in their library. This means you could delete some that you have already shared or embedded and make more. Their Pro plan compared to Wistia’s Pro plan is not just cheaper but allows you to create unlimited videos. All Wisita plans limit the number of videos before you are charged per video.

A significant downside to the Vidyard Free and Pro plans is a lack of advanced analytics or A/B testing. The Vidyard Pro plan has performance analytics, but no reporting or an analytics dashboard. By comparison, all Wisita plans come with advanced video analytics.

In just the Vidyard Free plan you can find video editing and video management features like SEO and custom thumbnails. Their Pro plan comes with Priority support. For Wistia, you only get the trim feature for video content in Pro and priority support in their Business plan.

If you want to stick to a budget while creating a plethora of business video content, then Vidyard is ideal. If your team prefers a more advanced plan like one of Wistia’s features then you should consider them. For those of you that want to see a comparison breakdown of reviews for both software, go here.

Other alternatives would be creating your own video or webinars on Vimeo or YouTube.
