Exporting functionality is limited Cost and complexity of license structure Filtering on large datasets can at times be slow. … Well neither solution would be considered cheap, Tableau was the more cost effective solution for our needs.

More competitive pricing model -- the desktop / creator license can get expense fast so you need to be cautious of who has this user type. … Tableau Online is appropriate for companies that want a scaleable and user friendly data visualization software and are willing to invest in this area given the price of the solution.

The value really comes when you add unstructured data so if you are using structured data only from a single system or you have a holistic system the cost may not be justified.
