Fast surveys instrument

Rating: 7 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I organize surveys with SurveyMonkey and then use the information for presentations and research. Also, I use it for screenings inside my research when I need user interview participants. Technically, it is also a survey, but shorter and aims rather to find the right people than to get the information.

Pros

  • Organise a survey
  • Make different type of questions
  • Get the visualisation for the data of the survey

Cons

  • Very limited free version
  • No option to add sender name into invitation
  • No bulk downloads for some data

Likelihood to Recommend

If you need a simple template for a survey, SurveyMonkey will work well for it. But if you need a more complex design - randomize questions, complex algorithms, a/b tests, maybe it could be easier to find another instrument. Also, with the SurveyMonkey you can have visualised results, which can be used in presentation, but if you need to download a lot of answers which are not numeric - it can be a pain.

Great tool for surveys, scorecards

Rating: 9 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We utilize SurveyMonkey for a couple of reasons. One reason is to conduct employee surveys to get responses and easily look at the results. Another reason is to score sales calls. We have our scorecard uploaded to SurveyMonkey and utilize it to score the questions for sales calls to determine how each skill was done on the calls evaluated.

Pros

  • Quick internal surveys
  • Easy to use
  • Scoring sales calls on specific score card

Cons

  • Limited number of questions per page

Likelihood to Recommend

SurveyMonkey is well suited for companies looking to conduct internal or external surveys. It is also well suited for companies looking for an easy way to put together a scorecard to score their sales calls. It would not necessarily be needed if you have another tool to accomplish this or if you do not have a need for a survey tool.

Cons

  • Interface can be self explanatory

  • Create better sections for different solutions online

Intuitive Professional-Looking Form Builder with All Question Types

Rating: 9 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use SurveyMonkey in my organization for generating and sending forms to prospects and clients such as intake forms, specific follow up surveys for particular services, feedback forms, referral forms, and testimony forms. The intake form is how prospects can tell us about themselves and what services they need, so we can connect them to the next right step. We use SurveyMonkey through key checkpoints of our sales funnel/client pipeline.

Pros

  • It's easy and intuitive to create forms
  • Every question type is available (e.g. Likert scale, multi-select, etc.), and you can add an 'Other' option easily which comes with a dropdown for respondents to elaborate
  • Easy to see aggregated data

Cons

  • Only higher paid tiers allow for full customization of the forms, I wish it were easier and included to increase things like color and font size across the whole form. You're limited to their templates.
  • Conditional logic could improve
  • Each respondent needs their own link, it'd be easier if I could send the same general link to everyone, and SurveyMonkey could keep separate records for each new response

Likelihood to Recommend

SurveyMonkey is well suited for external, professional, client-facing forms and complex question types. I've tried generating forms on HubSpot, and it's not nearly as intuitive or clean-looking, and not all question types are supported (e.g. Likert scales).

For quick, internal forms that don't need to be as pretty or professional, I find that Google Forms is the quickest and easiest to pull together, especially since it has a single, universal respondent link. If I wanted to embed a link in a mass email, SurveyMonkey doesn't allow multiple respondents to use the same link on my plan.

Best Survey Tool

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use SurveyMonkey for our market research studies, getting our clients feedback on our services and for any new project to get the insights before we introduce the project to the public, it's very useful and user-friendly.

Pros

  • Building survey questions
  • Many options to distribute the survey
  • Analyzing the survey result

Cons

  • Building the survey could be easier when moving questions
  • Putting the questions in specific order takes some time, it can be easier in other softwares

Likelihood to Recommend

When creating surveys, it's very userfriendly where you can copy from any where and paste it to edit on it, also sharing the survey is very easy, where you can create multiple links if you are targeting group of people where you need to divide your responses

Awesome Survey Tool!

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use SurveyMonkey to create and distribute various surveys to our employees to include feedback, DEI, exit questionnaires, etc. Prior to me using this software it was mainly used by our recruitment team, and I created surveys using MS Word. It was rather difficult to distribute surveys to our staff and collect the responses while ensuring identifiable information remained anonymous. We also struggled to get employees to take the time needed to complete them. Since acquiring SurveyMonkey, the process has been streamlined and it has made a world of difference even in the responses that we receive.

Pros

  • Keeps identifiable information anonymous.
  • Being able to close the survey at a set time without having to remember to do so.
  • Takes the guess work out of response collecting.
  • Makes it easy to categorize responses within the same survey. Being able to add tags to open-ended questions makes it easy for us to identify patterns in responses.
  • An array of survey options and questions.
  • An all around great product that meets multiple needs.
  • Can have multiple collectors for the same survey to included manual input.

Cons

  • Survey designs. I would like if it offered more options design wise.
  • Can be difficult to navigate but easy to use for the most part.

Likelihood to Recommend

SurveyMonkey is best suited for you if you find that you are creating multiple survey regularly. It offers a variety of questions and options and is a well-rounded surveying tool. It is not best if you do not create surveys often, typically use the same survey, or looking for software to create quizzes or assessments. Also, if you are easily overwhelmed by too many options, this may not be the tool for you.

Only 2 devices per account?!

Rating: 2 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We survey students after course completion.

Pros

  • Recipients don't have any complaints

Cons

  • Number of devices is incredibly limited

Likelihood to Recommend

It's fine for people who have one office and a very limited number of devices. We have several office and classroom locations, as well as event venues. With our former survey provider, I could login from any device at any of our locations. No issue. I didn't have to lug a laptop around unless it was an event. SurveyMonkey is already VERY expensive compared to our previous survey provider. Now I've learned that with the standard account, you can only login from 2 devices without paying even more for an upgrade. (Even though you are verifying the account via email every time.) I have a tablet and laptop at home, a desktop at two different offices in the state, plus my phone, plus the laptop in our classroom. I can no longer shoot out surveys on the fly as classes are graduating out. It's now something that I have to do from the office, which is a hassle. I wish I knew this before spending many hours designing our survey in SurveyMonkey. We have logins for countless services like this one and we've never had this issue.

Survey Monkey is a great surveying software for small businesses

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use SurveyMonkey for both gathering feedback from our employees, as well as our clients. It is a great way for us to communicate with and get feedback from employees before making a business decision that may have an impact on them - or just to see how they feel about certain aspects or changes within the business.

Pros

  • Easy to use interface.
  • Robust design features for survey variations.
  • Great free plan.

Cons

  • More customization for forms colors/design on free plan.
  • Analytics and reporting could be revamped.
  • UX could be improved.

Likelihood to Recommend

SurveyMonkey really excels in the survey design aspect of the surveying process. They have so many different question types that you can use to create your questions. The analytics and reporting are basic but ok for those wanting simple insights into their survey answers. Their free plan should suffice for any business that needs the fundamentals of surveying - i.e. survey builder, sharing, and viewing answers.

Utterly Pointless Product

Rating: 1 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We were going to use SurveyMonkey to survey our members. As we're volunteer-run, we use free services. SurveyMonkey is bottom-feeding money-grabbing wasters. Their free product only allows 10 results - this was not made clear (and was certainly not the previous situation) when signing up. To now see the additional results we either have to pay over £100 or ask our members to take to time to fill out the survey again on a platform not run by thieves. Not even a free trial period to at least get these results.

Pros

  • Demand money
  • Demand money
  • Demand money
  • Demand money

Cons

  • Offer free trial periods
  • not be tight CU Next Tuesdays
  • Make it clear the free product has absolutely no uses beyond collecting plans for a family dinner
  • Remove the free product as it is utterly pointless

[In My Opinion, I Think They're] Frauds - [I believe You Should] Be Careful [of] the Renewal Conditions

Rating: 1 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

[In my experience,] the SurveyMonkey team decided to push through the renewal without our consent, and [I believe they] are now providing false information concerning the renewal conditions. [In my opinion, you should] please note that their conditions do not respect Consumer Laws. [I feel that] this is considered fraud. [Because of our experience,] we recently decided to cancel our renewal subscription because our teams using the survey functionalities [feel that] the product [is] archaic and very costly for what it provides. [I believe] other products in the market do a better job for less. We are now turning to other products and companies that are worthy of our business. [Personally,] we do not tolerate fraud and misuse of consumer conditions.

Pros

  • Building a question

Cons

  • [I believe that the] renewal conditions [could be done differently].
  • [I think that the] survey functionality beyond the questions [is] archaic and dysfunctional.
  • [In my opinion, the] graphs are rudimentary and are not usable when presenting results.

Likelihood to Recommend

[I think that] SurveyMonkey is too basic to actually permit any use. The functionalities that [are] interesting are very costly and [I think that] with the technology evolution of the past 2 years, we consider SurveyMonkey a market lagger.
