we use SAC for staff forecasting and scheduling. it helps eliminate manual spreadsheets.

Pros

story building easy for users
model set up is straightforard
Excel add-in

Cons

easier to establish data integrations
excel add in should be on par with web interface
make just ask and AI user friendly. it should be like using Google or chat gpt but its not even close

I use SAP BusinessObjects within SAP Analytics Cloud, so this review will be related to SAP BusinessObjects. I use it for data analytics to determine financial benefits from operations and call centers.

Pros

The UI is fantastic and always improving.
The query times are very fast even for larger data sets.

Cons

BOBJ could be improved by allowing more customization on the end user part of things.
Id like to see the ability to do customer queries within a report.

SAP BusinessObjects is applicable in the data world but when it comes to front end employees it might be too advanced and wouldn't be applicable.

SAP Analytics Cloud is both a planning platform and an analytics integrated Development Environment. Many of my clients use it for planning dashboards and applications as it offers interactive widgets that can be enhanced via scripting.

Pros

Smart Insights - Trend Forecasting.
Simplification of Data Actions (compared to BPC)

Cons

Integration with API can be simplified to maximize data import / export with platforms outside of SAP suite.
Performance on stories both on web client and using SAP Analytics Cloud Excel Addin
Performance in general can be improved to make it comparable to products such as those in the SAS suite of solutions.

I'm doing SAP Analytics Cloud implementation at many customers. Their issue is having multiple version of excel files to consolidate for Budget and Forecast which create a lot of admin burden

Easy to Navigate
Provide Structure Data Set

Cons

Linked Analysis Between Model
Improvement of Forecasting Templates (make sure we can have 2 versions open at the same time). The Rolling Fcst Layout seem to only allow 1 version at a time
Load Master Data via Flat File (could be nice) but query are optimal of course
Provide Default Code for classic Scripting Requirement i.e Drill-Down
Improve performance loading when there is a lot of data and security not required i.e for an Admin User

Integrated data for client, it provide the opportunity for the client to rethink where the data is coming from. Standarization of templates for Budget and Forecast. Standarized Financials Statements.
