Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Next GEN as a provider to access health records, reviewing patients’ labs, charting, ordering tests, referrals, and in any aspect of a patient’s care. I am really unsure as to what this question means by asking what business problems the product addresses. My company, Next GEN, is used in multiple ways, including billing, registration, Next GEN AI, and more.

Pros

  • Ease of being able to chart with templates.
  • The RX system is particularly well easy to access and to send medication’s.

Cons

  • Some templates seem to have issues that have not been resolved.
  • With the new update, I feel it doesn’t function as well as the previous one, and it's harder to access and find things, or navigate.

Likelihood to Recommend

Overall, I have used Next GEN since 2012. The system just keeps getting better. I would recommend that any provider be able to use it. That’s just a wonderful charting system that is easy to use and has an accurate record.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use NextGen every day as our EHR system. I am a provider in Primary care and use it to document all patients that I see. NextGen provides a comprehensive EHR system and allows me to fully and accurately document all patient charts. I am able to use it on a desktop, laptop or my phone making its accessibility when seeing patients very easy.

Pros

  • Provides access on a laptop, phone or desktop
  • Provides clear navigation in the system
  • Communicates well with the IT staff at my company

Cons

  • It can take time to navigate to different sections, too many clicks to achieve the task
  • There are areas where text can get cut off and you have to go to a different section to provide additional text

Likelihood to Recommend

Once you learn how to use and navigate the system it is easy to use. It provides thorough and organized information in the charts.

With NextGen Mobile, I am able to go into patient rooms with just my phone and review patient lab results and medications without having to use a laptop or desktop, making my patient encounter more efficient.

Well-Suited for Orthopedic Practices

Rating: 8 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We

are an orthopedic practice utilizing NextGen Healthcare’s EHR and EPM systems in

our clinical operations. The EHR

supports orthopedic documentation, e-prescribing, and regulatory compliance,

while the EPM streamlines scheduling, billing, and claims management. We also utilize Therapy Suite to coordinate care between providers and therapists.

Pros

  • Communication
  • Upgrade Support
  • Resources

Cons

  • Technical Support is not in the USA, making communication difficult
  • To get a case escalated, most times need to ask to get it escalated
  • Patient Portal has to many steps to get set up and maintain running. The inbox for portal messages staff never understand.

Likelihood to Recommend

NextGen Healthcare EHR works well for specialty practices like orthopedics, offering customizable templates, therapy suite integration, and efficient scheduling and billing through EPM. The patient portal is difficult to utilize, but still functional.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use NextGen Healthcare EHR to manage all of our patient care. We schedule appointments, chart patient encounters, manage medical records and send all claims through the software. This software makes viewing patient records, including balances and payments very easy and new staff is able to learn the system quickly. It is helpful to be able to use the training available through the system when we are training staff.

Pros

  • The inter office messages are easy to send and view
  • Claim history on the practice management side is easy to view and it is easy to print the HCFA
  • The knowledge base is helpful as is the training page for new employees

Cons

  • It is difficult to add documents to patient charts from the fax inbox because the documents cannot be read easily without opening them at which point you cannot access the screen to attach the document to a chart
  • It is inconvenient that only one user at a time can be working in a SOAP note
  • It is difficult to set up a report for patient payments that separates the payments made by cash, check or charge

Likelihood to Recommend

NextGen is very easy to navigate and simple to learn. The patient scheduling and calendars are very clear and the flexibility to customize the calendars is very helpful. When we are making patient appointments it is clear what times are available for each doctor and office which helps avoid mistakes since we have multiple doctors and offices.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Our entire clinic runs on NextGen Healthcare EHR. Business office, nurse and physician documentation, infusion documentation, patient portal, analytics. We have 12 specialty physicians in our practice who use this software on a daily basis. We use several plugins such as Luma, Instamed, NextGen Share, and we have interfaces between NextGen and our lab and radiology software.

Pros

  • Templates and documents are pretty easy to customize to meet our needs
  • Pre-visit insurance verification

Cons

  • PXP patient portal has been very buggy with a lot of downtime
  • Reporting tools can't always pull the data we're looking for
  • Support can be slow to respond at times.

Likelihood to Recommend

The system has so many options that at times it can be overwhelming for users to try to find what they need. Tech savvy users can accomplish a lot in this software, but folks who aren't as good with computers can really struggle.
