Best Backup solution you can ever use

As an MSP, this is the standard backup solution that we use for all of our clients. We solve our client's backup and disaster recovery needs by providing both local and cloud backup solutions. We have used the cloud image to spin up a server in AWS when their system was down, awesome customer feedback. ZenaIT (<a title="Link: http://www.zenait.com" href="http://www.zenait.com">www.zenait.com</a>) works closely wth our clients and their backup / restore needs.

Pros

  • Flawless integration with AWS
  • Quick and reliable local restores from a NAS
  • Always being updated and keeping up with current backup trends and standards
  • OUTSTANDING and prompt support when it's needed the most

Cons

  • MSP360 continues to update their products all the time and any suggestions are seriously reviewed and if validated it is updated in the next release

Likelihood to Recommend

MSP360 provides the most flexibility when it comes to backup solutions. there have been no cases where it could not be used for our manages services clients. It has saved our clients many times over the years and we do not use another backup solution for any of our clients. There are a lot of solutions out there but MSP360 is priced right and serves the needs of all of our Managed Services clients.

We love it.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I'm a small MSP with 30 or so clients. We needed an alternative to Ahsay and eventually found Cloudberry, which is now MSP360. Since switching to them, everything has been great. The software just works. Updates always have new and better features. The price is perfect. My only complaint is that the backup software doesn't send an alert if it is uninstalled. After the software is uninstalled, the backup log will register one less backup. That is the only way to tell. This doesn't perfectly fit our compliance model, but it's not grounds to switch products.

The MSP360 Backup is the go-to tool for Managed Services Providers in the IT world of small and medium-size companies because it is cost-effective, simple to implement, and covers the top customer's needs and wants. Also, it has a very comprehensive list of backup plans and options, making it easy to cover the most common scenarios in our market space.

Cons

  • Message errors are hard to understand
  • Should add a general interface to manage all accounts, not a specific interface for every account.
  • The new backup formats enhancements should be available for all cloud storage companies. More focus with Wasabi would be great because of their focus on storage and low prices.

MSP360 Managed Backup is great for small and medium-sized companies and where there is no need to save/backup different types of databases.

Great Solution for Many Backup Scenarios

We use MSP360 Managed Backup to fulfill the needs of our clients when it comes to backups, be it files, exchange, virtual machines, SQL databases, Office365, or Gsuite messages and files, MSP360 got us covered.

Pros

  • Backup of Files with muliple version, be it by number or by date
  • Supporting the many different scenarios that our clients can have
  • Backup of information that is already on Office365 or GSuite

Cons

  • Real time support, like with a Chat for priority 1 tickets/problems
  • Support for different SQL Databases
  • MSP management for all the data types/ jobs

Likelihood to Recommend

Best suited for backups of files from Windows Servers, Linux Servers, Virtual Machines, and MS SQL Databases Less appropriate for scenarios where the backup will be from different databases because the data will have to be exported and them the tool can backup the file that results from the export process.

We use MSP360 Managed Backup to support our client's data retention needs. From basic file/directory backups to full images, MSP360 covers all areas of our needs for data management and has a very versatile platform that allows us to direct data to any number of locations with the granular flexibility of any number of backup options.

Likelihood to Recommend

I have no hesitation in recommending MSP360 to other MSPs. Their platform is continuing to grow with a tremendous allotment of options, as well as improving the aesthetics of their platform over time, all while allowing MSPs to resell these programs without breaking the bank. I have not seen another vendor continue to roll out features and dedicate their time to supporting the platform at the pace MSP360 does.

I am a reseller/consultant. I have about a dozen clients on this backup solution, several of which require HIPAA compliance. All of these clients are either brand new businesses and this is their first brush with a backup solution, or we are replacing their current backup solution for one that is more reliable and economical than what they are currently using.

Cons

  • Each client I setup I have to fumble through the creation of a data bucket with the backend provider (Wasabi in my case). I havent found a clean way to reproduce that. (This may be a function of my lack of education and not a lack of features with the software.)

I am a consultant but not an MSP. I dont have programs or packaged solutions that I sell. MSP360 was very simple to setup and employ as a resellable item.

  • Excellent dashboard to view backup status across the enterprise
  • Easy to set up and install
  • Backup agent is not resource intensive on the hardware

  • Dashboard items are sometimes inconsistent
  • Customer service and support
  • Monitoring website can be slow to load and render data

Likelihood to Recommend

Excellent product for the price if you want a single pane of glass for your enterprise backup solution and want to have the backups reside in the cloud. Scales very well. Pricing is also very competitive.

Great product and a great price

We had a client that was using an old unitrends system, but they kept running out of local storage space, and kept having to remove backups just so backups could run. We wanted a good AWS compatible option, and MSP360 was that option. We use this to run backups nightly and run straight into AWS Glacier storage.

Pros

  • Super easy interface.
  • Quick setup.
  • Can save to really any cloud storage without issue.

Cons

  • The CloudBackup Drive has some issues.
  • Would be nice to have a single interface to manage all my servers.
  • Requires a console on each machine being backed up.

Likelihood to Recommend

We use this to run nightly backups to AWS Glacier storage. It runs great. Super easy to use. Even licensing is great. If you need to move the install to a new device, you just remove the license from the old and can reuse it on the new. You can do local backups, and cloud backups.

We use MSP360 Backup to backup virtual machines, image disks, and files from many clients that we have. We use the 3-2-1 backup rule with this software in order to provide secure backup.

Pros

  • Great management panel from the web. You can add and configure existing backup plans without access to the endpoint server.
  • You can limit cloud usage for customers and servers.
  • You can transfer entire servers or virtual machines to cloud.
  • You can backup files, disks, or virtual machines to local and cloud locations.

Cons

  • Using the software could be simpler. There are many configuration options in backup plans that can be confusing.
  • Sometimes errors occur in backups of hyper-v VMs that disappear on their own as if the software were problematic.

Likelihood to Recommend

MSP360 Backup could be used in many scenarios to backup virtual machines, transfer them to Azure or AWS, backup files and folders from computer to cloud, and even backup to local and cloud in the same plan. If you have too many VMs in a server, you will probably have issues with backing up some of them for no apparent reason.
