Super tool to sweep our LAN to find IT assets. Anything from computers, servers, switches and printers etc to even screens connected to the computers. It helps us easily see what is connected to our LAN and even on which switch ports it is connected.

Lansweeper is responsible for running our helpdesk ticketing system. It also scans and lists inventory which includes servers, workstations, mobile devices, network switches and other devices. Its also helps us keep track of software licensing keys and peripherial devices like monitors and flash drives. It also creates and deploys software packages

Likelihood to Recommend

Lansweeper would best suited for an environment that needs additional insight into their systems but dont want to pay a lot for it. Its ability to create .msi and scripting deployment packages is very useful. Also, the ability to see peripheral devices attached to end user workstations is very helpful.

I use Lansweeper as endpoint identification on our network, we wanted to have a current list of addressable items at any time. Lansweeper simplified that, and would identify items that other tools weren't reporting. This helped fill a need for some cybersecurity needs that we were required to adhere to.

Likelihood to Recommend

If you have a smaller team and need to find all assets that are on your LAN, this tool streamlines and greatly speeds that process up. It's easy to enter credentials and let it scan. If your business happens to be primarily remote, I have not found a great use case for those assets that Lansweeper could address.

Lansweeper does a great job of scanning our network and providing data on our equipment. For example a desktop PC or laptop can be scanned and you are provided a detailed breakdown of peripherals, software, and hardware. It gives a quick snapshot with both high and low levels of information. Another great feature is that is can show switch information along with what is connected to all ports.

If you want an easy way to find everything attached to your network then this is the tool for you. It is fun to drill down into the data and see which users are attached to devices and things like that. Assets can be tracked very well and searches are a vital part of finding data.

Lansweeper is great took for asset management, we use it to track our laptops, desktops, phones and tablets and it works great with our ITSM and InTune. It makes asset tracking and management much easier. It helps us determine which laptops are not being used, track the major updates and unregistered software.

Its very useful for large organisations, over 2000 laptops , phones and tablets and it can also be used for servers, VM's firewalls, office equipment etc. It can help a lot of managing updates and security patching as well as just knowing what is being used on your network and what is not. For smaller organisations it probably more feasible to get some all0in-one product with remote access and other features.

With all the IT asset across various office globally, we need to have a centralize IT asset management software to inventories all the IT assets (hardware and software) in my organization as a single source of truth. The benefit of this SaaS product is without the need to install agents on all IT equipment for discovery and making it easier to deploy.

Lansweeper have so many features it has available for use by IT professionals. It also allows us to search all IT assets that are connected to the network, including hardware details and software versions that helping us keep track of all our assets. The user interface is a bit outdates and controls are not exactly intuitive.

We use Lansweeper in the company for several functions, among them it is related to the inventory and control of all assets in our network (Desktops, Notebooks, Servers, Switches, IP Phone, Materials in stock...) in addition to keeping the monitoring of our environment VMware Hypervisor. We recommend using Lansweeper for a company's entire IT environment by taking inventory of assets online. Lansweeper enabled us to successfully pass 5 Microsoft audits in compliance.

Lansweeper is used for many IT functions. It shows me all my network-connected devices, including details about my PC's and Servers. I can see what processor, RAM, and Hard drives they have, so if I'm planning to upgrade, this makes it easier. I can also see who is logged on to that PC and its IP address. It also scans the PC's for what software they have and if the hard drive is full. You can create canned or custom reports using simple SQL code that many users provide to create the reports and alerts. I have one alert that tells me if a printer is getting low on toner. Another that looks at my domain server for any users that have locked their account. I also have a very nice helpdesk module that you can also create reports and alerts on. Lansweeper is so easy to create what you need due to the SQL aspect of it. And if you have less than 100 devices, it's free.

This would be for that advanced IT person that understands they need to see what's on their network and a little about SQL to create Reports and Alerts.</li><li> It may be too much for that small 5-10 user company, but remember its free if you have 100 devices or less.</li></ul>

Form helpdesk to an automated inventory scan, Lansweeper has saved us so much time it's immeasurable. We (for the IT department) bought Lansweeper primarily to keep up with software licenses and to manage hardware warranties, but it's a very valuable asset management tool all around. We probably only use a few of its functionality, but it's worth the lesser price just for that.

I am a big fan of software scanning and software license information. Lansweeper saved us dozens of hours of license and asset detail collection so far. All the functionalities are there, and they are flexible but do require some research from time to time. The same goes for deployment and reporting. The tools are there, and quite a lot of default content is available, but if you want to take full advantage of the tool's power, get creative, and do some research.

We are currently utilizing Lansweeper as our go-to IT asset inventory database. Prior to installation, we were able to discern data from Active Directory, countless Excel sheets, and "chicken-scratch" notebooks to track inventory and serials. Lansweeper has allowed us to centralize our inventory into one location, which automatically updates as we make changes to our environment.

Lansweeper I believe is well suited for any environment - its low cost and small footprint make it an easy addition to any organization, big or small, that is looking for an asset inventory solution that can either replace or supplement existing asset management systems. It may not be well suited for situations where a lot of customization is necessary, such as pulling in custom fields or details from equipment that don't reside in a registry.
