Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Hiring top-notch tech talent is always a challenge. Codility helps us to filter the candidates and helps us in making a decision to hire the best talent available. We usually use Codility for screening the candidates before the interview, and also we use it for live coding. The set of questions for coding is great, the database of the question bank is great, and we love it.

Pros

  • Live coding
  • Technical screening
  • Coding challenge

Cons

  • Reports could be more detailed

Likelihood to Recommend

Codility is very suitable where we need to hire in bulk for tech roles. The coding assignment is very good for software engineering and DevOps roles. There are no scenarios where I feel it is less appropriate to use Codility. Overall I find it useful and helpful in hiring tech talent.

Great tool for IT candidates technical assessment

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Codility in the selection process for most of the open positions in the organization (at least in the Americas region). It's sometimes used as a screening tool (to filter candidates by skill level) or to complement the technical assessment. It really helps to have an idea of the candidate's technical level and make decisions based on that.

Pros

  • Easy to use
  • Good interface (for the ones that take the test)
  • Many options of tests to use or build
  • Clear and complete test report

Cons

  • Could describe the tests easier for layman to understand
  • Could update tasks more often to prevent copies

Likelihood to Recommend

Codility is a great tool to use for candidates' technical assessments of our selection processes. It is easy for recruiters to use, friendly to the people that are tested, and easy to manage. The test report is great. As a recruiter with limited technical knowledge, I wish it could be easier for me to build a test by myself (understand the tasks easier - there could be a bigger description or training for us) without depending on the hiring managers who aren't always available. Also, most times the invitation e-mail to take the test ends up in the candidates' spam box.

Codility - get the job done

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

It allows faster recruitment of developers, they can take tests remotely, and the experience is good. The solution offers various options, with automations, and easy evaluation of the exam, so that the recruiting manager is also happy. In a nutshell, both HR, hiring managers, candidates, and IT like it much. The ROI was fast and especially clear when interviewing candidates remotely during the pandemic.

Pros

  • Run Tech exams for remote candidates.
  • Allow Exam planning.
  • Let managers easily check the exams.
  • Make sure candidates can't cheat during the exam.

Cons

  • Integration with additional Talent Acquisition tools
  • More templates

Planning an Exam Scheduling and running the exam Taking the exam Assessing the exam results All done for remote candidates. While working remotely from home during the pandemic many managers found it harder to examine techie talents. Right after when the market started to boil and competition for talent rose, we all tried ways to make it easier for talents, so remote exams become more common and friendly. The ROI, while not always quantified, is in candidate experience, and hiring manager satisfaction as per recruiting talents.
