Poor Experience

Rating: 1 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are a solo financial planning practice and hired BenchmarkONE (Hatchbuck) to automate marketing email campaigns to prospective clients.

Pros

  • The email automation feature

Cons

  • Not compatible with financial services compliance reporting. I use Yahoo for my domain. The records they provided were not compatible with Yahoo. They suggested I get a new domain provider. Obviously, that was not a solution given multiple systems would be impacted adversely. Hatchbuck finally came up with another solution via a third party vendor (Singrid) who provided a BCC feature. Apparently that service is going away in June and there is not an alternative.
  • No refund offered upon terminating given they will not be able to provide a solution for my compliance requirements. I was told to see Terms & Services - shameful.
  • Too complicated for little to no service.

Likelihood to Recommend

Poor experience.

Great CRM! Does what it needs to do, and does it well for you!

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Hatchbuck to reach out to large numbers of prospects and clients at once. It allows us to disperse information across large groups of people in a controlled and measurable method. It provides a number of options to manage how those prospects view and interact with the emails we send, and sends us good information about what they are doing with the content. There are a number of tasks you can program into the emails to keep you notified, and it's just a great tool overall.

Pros

  • Email Tasks
  • Unsubscribe
  • Notifications
  • Follow up
  • Great templates for email creation
  • Very easy to have multiple users on our team sharing information

Cons

  • I feel the user interface is unclear at times
  • There should be some training videos or training tools on the site
  • I'm sure it does more than I'm currently aware of

Likelihood to Recommend

In sales this is an excellent tool to keep prospects and clients up to date on relevant information about our programs. The software provides a smooth unsubscribe function as well, and manages it so as a user you don't have to pay attention. It will simply stop pinging the people that click Unsubscribe, and continue with the others. You don't have to 'scrub' your lists.

A great budget CRM and sales/email marketing tool for agencies

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Hatchbuck across my whole organization (we're a small team of 2). We use it for keeping all of our contacts in one place, tagging/segmenting our contacts, and creating and deploying automated email campaigns. It makes it easy to keep track of contacts generated from different channels -- for example, I have zaps in Zapier set up so that all contacts from my website and lead gen tools are all automatically imported and tagged to Hatchbuck. Hatchbuck is also making it easy for me to reach different groups of contacts with unique messaging (for instance, I won't send the same email messages to my cold leads that I send to my warmer ones, and this is all automated).

Pros

  • Email marketing. Their WYSIWYG email editor has a lot of options for customization, but also offers templates if you're not great with code or you're in a hurry.
  • Keeping contacts organized. There are tons of ways to categorize contacts - using tags, labels, and other data.
  • Automated contact "points." You can set up automations to add or subtract points from contacts based on their behavior (site visits, social media visits, clicks, etc.) to gauge how warm/cold your leads are.
  • Customer service. Their team is really stellar and they really care about their clients!

Cons

  • Servers. Their servers are a little slow sometimes, making it a bit painful to make changes/saves.
  • I may be nitpicking, but I don't like having to click multiple times to confirm something. I'd rather their interface require one click for most actions and have an unobtrusive "undo" dialog box that pops up in case you didn't mean to make a change.

Likelihood to Recommend

It's great for SMB agencies who want to track their sales/marketing pipeline and do email automation and contact management in the same place. Possibly larger e-Commerce businesses might not want to use Hatchbuck, since it seems to cater more toward agencies or smaller businesses. It's also great if you're on a budget - they're really robust for the price.

The #1 solution for small businesses

Rating: 9 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We're using Hatchbuck as a CRM for clients that are just starting with their marketing automation and want to integrate sales and marketing, without having to pay premium prices. It's used mostly by marketing and sales departments since it provides great options for marketing automation and customer relationship management through automated campaigns, notifications, pipelines and many others.

Pros

  • It's very user-friendly and easy to navigate
  • All automation is based on the tag system, making it very easy to set any nurturing campaign
  • They have an excellent support team! Quick to respond and find a solution.

Cons

  • It'd be great if the tool had landing pages and calls to action. It would eliminate the need for multiple tools and streamline the efforts and results.
  • Form design could be better. Although there can be custom coded, the default options are pretty basic.

Likelihood to Recommend

Hatchbuck is a great tool if you're looking for a budget-friendly CRM option. It's easy to set up and fairly easy to navigate. Keep in mind that you will need additional tools for landing pages and social media. But even with the additional tools, the price of the software beats many other CRM solutions. This would be my #1 recommendation for anyone that's starting with their CRM efforts.

Everything you need without the hassle, complexity, or cost.

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Hatchbuck as our cloud-based platform for our CRM, Digital Sales, and Content Marketing needs.

Pros

  • Ease of implementation and use
  • Affordability
  • Functionality
  • Support

Cons

  • Some of the design templates and tools leave a little to be desired
  • The reporting functionality is a bit clunky and not as user intuitive, harder to customize
  • Suggested workflow would help

Likelihood to Recommend

Fantastic for smaller businesses as they begin to establish their brand prominence, create a thoughtful communications cadence with their community, and distribute relevant content for marketing and sales purposes. It is so easy to adopt and use. And it provides much of the functionality the larger providers (e.g. Hubspot) without the noise and distractions.

Marketing automation for the win!

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Our team uses Hatchbuck in a variety of ways to support our sales, marketing, and customer service team members. We use their forms, automated campaigns, and tasks to follow up and nurture sales leads. Additionally, we use the automated campaigns, email templates, and their drag and drop email builder as tools to onboard new customers and follow up with existing customers. We also use Hatchbuck as a CRM to track and record details on our users and send targeted emails and campaigns to them. As a small business with limited staff and resources, Hatchbuck helps us ensure each of our customers gets the attention they need.

Pros

  • We love that actions the customer takes, like opening an email, clicking a link, etc. adds up to a 'score' for them. This helps us gauge the level of interest from a customer in one glance.
  • Their drag and drop email composer is easy to use and flexible enough to customize as we wish to align with our branding.
  • Automated campaigns are easy to setup and we love that we can add notifications to alert us when a customer takes a certain action (fills out a form, clicks a link, etc.)
  • We also heavily use their API to sync data and start campaigns, it's been a great way to automate as much as we can.

Cons

  • They've recently updated their reporting metrics, so we'd love to see that trend continue and have the ability to create really customized reports.
  • Similarly, they also recently updated their email composers and template library, but the more design options the better!

Likelihood to Recommend

Hatchbuck is great for small to mid size businesses that are really looking to keep track of their progress with their sales leads as well as their existing customers, as well as tracking the activity their customers are taking from their communications, and automate their sales and marketing funnel as much as possible. We are a SaaS company (software as a service), with sales that range from teeny tiny to very big fish so it's been an easy tool to work with to make sure we are communicating with clients based on their size and needs.

Great Training Wheels for Small B2B Compnay

Rating: 8 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Hatchbuck is being used throughout my organization across product lines as our primary CRM and marketing automation tool. As a small business, the needs for automation are great. It permits nurturing of leads and managing customers at various points in the funnel without a full-time staff operating around the clock.

Pros

  • Emails - Hatchbuck has recently enhanced their email template collection. That said, most of ours use plain text. It's easy to design your own, though.
  • Support - whenever I have had an issue or question, the responsiveness has been exceptional.
  • OnBoarding - I had a 1:1 consultant to meet with me over my first several months who was delightful and capable, helping me learn the system.

Cons

  • Campaign design could be strengthened with the use of visual mapping as many other marketing automation offers.
  • They've only just introduced a mobile solution, and it is not very practicable for managing; rather it seems designed for sales reps on the move.
  • The reliance on tags can become quite "clunky" over time. Their CRM is wonderfully integrated but not as strong as standalone products.

Likelihood to Recommend

<div>This is a good entry into marketing automation for those who don't want to be overwhelmed at the start, nor sunk by high prices. It was a combination of the price, onboarding, and basic capabilities that led to our selection. I expect we'll "grow out of it" in another year or so.</div><div>

</div><div>MUCH more appropriate for B2B. Most of my challenges are because my business is B2C. There is a new emphasis on "companies" in the CRM piece that actually becomes a nuisance when your only customers are individuals.</div>

Hatchbuck Bucked Up Our Company

Rating: 7 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Hatchbuck is used across our organization of 8 employees. Our company is a web-based resource portal for news, information, jobs, resources and more for the health economics arena of pharmaceuticals and healthcare. We make our revenue by advertising. Hatchbuck helps us capture advertising partner leads and know who our customers are.

Pros

  • Automate soft marketing letters
  • Advance customers through sales funnel
  • Save time by sales staff
  • Organize leads by area of interest

Cons

  • Improve the ability to see what emails were sent out to sales leads across company, showing on a dashboard.
  • Make it easier to copy campaigns and make edits
  • Make it easier to manage tags by adding descriptors of what tags mean

Likelihood to Recommend

Hatchbuck is perfect for the small company looking to get a CRM but doesn't have a lot of money to spend. It's a very useful system that lets the user better manage internal resources that are limited (like sales staff), and has helped us get much better organized.

Hate the name, love how it automates marketing

Rating: 10 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Hatchbuck stores the company's customer and prospect database and helps us stay in regular touch with customers and nurture prospects till they purchase. We don't like to cold calling for new business. Hatchbuck helps us engage people searching for our kind of marketing automation expertise and then educate them until they're ready for human contact with us. Hatchbuck's tracking system allows us to tag new prospects with their interests so we are smarter when we have those warmed-up conversations.

Pros

  • Very easy to learn and use. Navigation is intuitive.
  • Scoring feature is customizable and covers all the basics: email opens and click-thrus, web visits, form submits.
  • Customer service is fast and helpful; your questions are treated with urgency because they know you're probably on a deadline.
  • Pricing is very fair for all you get in a subscription.

Cons

  • No phone app yet.
  • API is only 1 way (into Hatchbuck).
  • No Boolean logic to filter on (although this feature is allegedly coming).

Likelihood to Recommend

Hatchbuck works best for solpreneurs or small workgroups where sharing information is supported. If a sales org has low trust, Hatchbuck won't be a good fit because there is no contact-level security and the "record email" feature is "all or nothing," meaning if it's on, any user will be able to read anyone's email correspondence. We solved this by not turning on the record email feature, but for some businesses, this is not ideal.

The Small Business Alternative To Complicated Marketing Automation Software

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Hatchbuck has been a godsend. We switched from HubSpot.

While Hatchbuck does not have all the bells and whistles of other marketing automation softwares, it serves as a CRM <u><b>and</b></u> Marketing Automation tool that allows our small business clients to do <i>inbound marketing</i> at an affordable rate, while not compromising quality of delivery.

<b>We mainly implement Hatchbuck for:</b>

<ul><li>Segmentation of lists</li><li>Contact scoring</li><li>Email marketing</li><li>A sales pipeline management

</li></ul>

Pros

  • Real people on the support team.
  • Unparallelled support and communication with agency partners.
  • Email marketing and lead scoring.
  • Integration with many other applications via Zapier.

Cons

  • Marketing analytics reports beyond email could be improved. (i.e. Competitor website ranking, seo recommendations, etc.)
  • A real WordPress plugin would be awesome
  • Built-in Landing pages. Currently you have option to integrate with several providers.

Likelihood to Recommend

<ul><li><u>Not ideal for enterprises</u> requiring ERP- level software.</li><li><u>Not a great e-commerce</u> solution.</li></ul>

<b>Perfect for</b> service based business [insurance, realtors, plumbers, etc.], small companies where lead generation is essential [ manufacturers, distributors, Chamber of Commerce, etc.]

Non-profit organizations are a great fit due to the cost of entry and list segmentation features within Hatchbuck.
