Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We have worked with AVI-SPL over a period of about 6 years to assist us with various audio-visual projects to design and implement meeting spaces for our organization. This also included a few different temporary meeting rooms and spaces during the COVID19 pandemic years when remote meetings were required. Some of these temporary spaces were then converted into permanent meeting systems by AVI-SPL.

From our experience AVI-SPL has the ability to assist with almost any audio-visual project no matter how big or how small because they have a big team with all of the needed expertise for any project. This level of service is better suited to bigger projects thou especially if you have your own internal IT or technical resources.

AVI-SPL is my go-to partner for audio/visual (AV) solutions and unified communications technology. They are able to provide site surveys to help customers define requirements, develop cost estimates, and recommend options based upon scheduling and budget limitations. In addition, they are developing a secure supply chain for delivering and storing sensitive material to our government customers that require additional oversight.

We use them to run our public multi-purpose room's A/V infrastructure. They created a flexible system that combines multiple computer inputs, microphone and other audio inputs, and enables us to record the meetings. The system has multiple video cameras and we can adjust them remotely as they stream and record the meetings.

We use this at minimum 2 times a month for public meetings and multiple times for more informal meetings. It works as a "zoom" room and allows create flexibility for internal training sessions where we can record and pass the recordings to those who aren't there.

AVI-SPL is well-suited for a complicated system where multiple (untrained) people will have access to it. They provide the capability to record and stream the meetings we hold. The system works well for the capacity and complexity of what it does. AVI-SPL is very responsive, able to troubleshoot issues and present upgrades and additional solutions for our situation. They have a friendly manner and are open to pursuing new ideas and concepts.

We used AVI-SPL as an implementation partner for our Global Conference Room refresh. Our hardware in conference rooms were reaching their end of life and this required a full refresh totaling 300+ rooms across 5 continents. In addition to just in-room conferencing hardware, we also looked for opportunity to completely redesign a few of our conference rooms, and leveraged AVI-SPL there as well.

Likelihood to Recommend

The advantages of working with AVI-SPL are that they have a broad depth of resources and expertise, have global presence, access to 3rd parties and contract agencies, and on-the-ground staffing that can travel to manage projects. I don't think there are any specific areas that AVI-SPL would be 'less appropriate' given we had a pretty set scope and they were able to commit what we were asking.

AVI SPL was our main contractor when it came to Boston AV installations. They installed conference rooms, large cafe areas, and small breakout rooms. They used Cisco equipment as well as TVs of our own make to satisfy our requirements and made a simple and easy to use experience for our end users.

They are a good installer and help plan your rooms with design documents accordingly. When it comes to the actual service of rooms or larger spaces they aren't the best.

AVI-SPL has been our AV integrator for over 20 years. We have approximately 360 AV equipped rooms in the Foothill-De Anza College District. We try to run a 6 year upgrade cycle so we purchase approximately 60 rooms a year. We install year round but our main windows are summer, spring and winter breaks. Scheduling is always a challenge but AVI-SPL has always been responsive and involved in our planning. We also have on going bond funded new construction and renovations where AVI-SPL has been involved in construction drawing review, site walks and installation planning and scheduling. We have had the same project manager the entire 20 years which has provided a consistent level of quality and efficiency to their work. We have a dedicated salesperson, engineer, programmer and lead installer all assigned to our account which adds additional value to our relationship. Lastly, they are a full service integrator who supports what they sell with a call center and regional field support technicians.

Likelihood to Recommend

AVI-SPL is well suited for educational or corporate AV integration. They can do small theater and small physical education integration. However, I would recommend a design consultant with public bidding for large theaters and large sports venues such as basketball or football fields. The also do indoor signage well but again I would recommend a consultant for outdoor signage.

AVI-SPL is the primary vendor providing audio-visual products and services at our meeting and event space. Visitors to our facility frequently compliment the sophisticated technology that supports their events. As our AV partner for more than 10 years, AVI-SPL has consistently provided superior guidance on all of our technology solutions and delivered the highest quality service.

Likelihood to Recommend

AVI-SPL listens well to their customers so that they can provide optimal solutions to the identified problems. Because of the level of sophistication that they bring to every project, they may not be well suited for smaller installations where that level of complexity isn’t necessary.

AVI-SPL is our registered vendor for AV needs example for installing audio video conferencing equipment in meeting/Collab spaces. We have used AVI-SPL recently for our office in [...] to enable multicamera option on teams room. That included system design, implementation and configuration.They delivered this project end to end.

Likelihood to Recommend

They are well suited for large corporate AV projects. In my experience, they take lot of time for small projects so I would chose another option for smaller delivery or Urgent tasks.
