Apify is our go to source for information about almost all of our research, we do automation for lead nurturing for a wide range of vertical. Fast efficient and fair, would higly recommend for any information capture need its community is vast and there´s most surely an "Actor" for it, take a look.

I use it for scraping social media datasets like tweets data which includes likes, views, retweets counts etc and Instagram post data. We use it to build automations around these datasets for internal purposes

Cheaper for Scraping datas
Endpoints and docs are easy to integrate on any platform
Lots of options on the Apify store

Cons

Actor permission model feels confusing for advanced multi-tenant use cases.
Monitoring, alerts, and failure notifications could be more robust and real time.
Better guided onboarding for debugging broken scrapers and proxy issues is needed

Apify has saved me a huge amount of time. The interface is intuitive, and the ready‑made actors cover almost everything I need. I like that I can set up workflows without writing complex code.

I love how intuitive the interface is. Even without deep coding knowledge, I can set up workflows quickly. The ready‑made actors are extremely helpful and cover most of my use cases.
Apify makes it incredibly easy to automate repetitive web tasks. The platform is stable, the actors run smoothly, and the logs give me full visibility into every step.
Apify offers impressive flexibility — from custom actors to API integrations and scheduling options. It scales well even with large workloads, and the performance has been consistent.

Cons

Some advanced features require a bit of a learning curve, especially for users without a technical background.

I use the Google Maps Apify scraper to conduct customer research on target businesses. The Apify Scraper returns Google Reviews that an AI agent can process and synthesize in order to designate them as a worthy lead or not. Apify is great for targeting, isolating, and packaging the data I need to generate a lead list for the product I am trying to sell.

Easy interface for entering info for the type of data I want to return

Cons

Apify can be too voluminous in the data it returns
Apify is not great for scraping LinkedIn job postings -- it returns a lot of irrelevant data

Has helped me save so much money and time on gettings leads for my agency business. I used to spend hours and hours trying to get leads or having to hire VA's that would take forever to scrape through Google maps to find leads for my business. Now I can just set up a bot to do it for me.

I use Apify as part of process automation in my marketing agency - scraping, enrichment, social media research, etc. It's great for experimenting with new ideas as well. Overall, a fantastic platform, good range of easy to use actors, great support - not that I am having issues frequently or anything.

Some actors can be faulty or harder to use, which is the developer's problem, not Apify's

Honestly, even though the platform is designed to API-fy things, hence the name, using the actors in a more manual way is perfectly convenient and is useful, so even using it for small projects wouldn't be overkill. That being said, they do have a minimum balance purchase, so if you literally need, like, 1 page, then maybe do it manually;

The platform provides and opportunity to create valuable and profitable products without the need for advertising or any additional steps that can be taken when setting up a startup.

It gives solo developers and freelancers the opportunity to make a profit from publishing their applications
It provides the server infrastructure to publish applications to world web in minutes
It provides guidance and previews to help you understand what the platform is aobut and how to use it
Good documentation that covers all relevant aspects
The inbuild proxy allows you to avoid blocking

Cons

A more generous free tier would provide developers with more opportunities
I had some difficulties rebuilding the application using cache, as it seemed to me that it was not working
The large number of documnetation options when setting up schemas makes it difficult to choose the correct one

From a developer perspective Apify is great if you are solo developer, a freelance or you have small team of enthusiasts who want to try to build and present something to the world, with the opportunity to make some profit from it. Apify provides easy to understand infructructure in teams of deploying your application and make it run in minutes. From the point of customers it's also great to have a variety of ready-made solutions to choose from. You don't need to think about building it you can just use it.
