7 Years of Satisfying Experience with Absorb

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Absorb to host and track completion of onboarding training for entry-level roles, compliance training for all levels, and completions for eLearning and on-the-job training for manager training programs. We have 7000+ frontline employees and over 1500 store managers that use the platform to complete mandatory and optional training. We also offer optional professional development eLearning, through a connection to Skillsoft's Business Library, for our managers and corporate headquarters employees.

Pros

  • Our system admins are able to easily train on the platform and complete their tasks in a relatively intuitive manner.
  • We are able to brand our pages to fit our brand standards.
  • Absorb provides relatively low friction for users.

Cons

  • The feature we use for on-the-job training checklists is cumbersome for both admins and, more problematically, for users. They need to click through several screens to check off on skills.
  • I'd like to see more options for AI-assisted career pathing and listing of courses by role.
  • Absorb connects with Skillsoft, but the process for integration was costly and took a lot of time.

Likelihood to Recommend

As a way to deliver eLearning content and track completion, I think Absorb handles our 7000+ users competently. In addition, their support team was always extremely helpful and responsive. When we went through the process of integrating Absorb with Skillsoft Business Advanced library, Absorb's team was very knowledgeable and helpful.

I think teams needing more streamlined checklist-style OJT skills tracking will be disappointed by Absorb's feature. It takes 4-5 clicks for a user to trainer to sign off on one skill.

Absorb LMS Strong Automation and Reporting at Scale

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Absorb LMS for organizational learning and serve all internal employees for onboarding, compliance, role-based & voluntary learning using all course types such as Online Courses, Instructor-Led Courses, and complex learning paths (Curricula). We have business-owned learning content within a defined governance framework. Next, we will focus more on the manager experience, improve reporting & compliance, and also analytics.

Pros

  • Overall, Absorb LMS is pretty easy to use for learners and especially for admins. It's practical to create and manage course content - it provides the most crucial options and yet is lean enough not to overcomplicate the admin's life. The consistent and customizable "table-view" in most of the admin-areas is very helpful and easy to follow.
  • Using Enrollment Rules, Absorb LMS let you define who a course applies to and how they get enrolled. You can build rules based on learner attributes, such as department, location job role, group, to include or exclude specific audiences. The way Absorb LMS is using enrollment attributes, no other LMS actually can fulfill our requirements easier. Enrollment rules are mainly embedded in individual course options (you can also create scheduled enrollments outside of the courses).

Cons

  • Absorb LMS falls behind a couple other LMS that are very strong in AI-specific special approaches (such as AI-agents) that are in place already within competitors but Absorb LMS has announced promising AI agents (for learners and admins) for 2026 so we're very excited.
  • Very slow handling of public-facing ideas portal for feature requests.
  • Premium features add cost: add-ons like "together" (new coaching module) and others, require separate packages/licensing. On the other hand, Absorb LMS's model keeps the main LMS feature more affordable in comparison to other LMS providers.

Likelihood to Recommend

Pro:

- For mid- to large sized enterprises that build on a robust LMS easy-to-use admin interface and setup, without the need to invest in specialized LMS administrators

- The easy-to-use learner dashboard and the intuitive admin interface.

- Unique and intuitive rule-based course enrollments that enables scalable, HRIS-driven assignments without complex maintenance

- Value for money; you enable only the modules you need

- AI: excels in enterprise-wide AI usability with scalable automation

Absorb nothing better

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use it for our customers, to help them with upskilling during our project implementation phase.

Its great for tracking quizzes, customer usage and engagement with the training on offer.

In the future we plan to integrate with other 3rd party providers, I have done this previously with other organizations I have worked for and it is a great way to increase the courses on offer.

Pros

  • Uploading courses
  • Tracking progress
  • LMS customisation
  • Automated reports

Cons

  • There is only one area that has fallen outside what I would like but it is in the analysis phase with them, auto generated notifications to me when a users leaves a course comment. The work around is good thought, create a daily report on comments.

Likelihood to Recommend

There are too many to mention but I have done a POC on a variety of LMS systems, i came up with 58 scenarios I wanted the system to be able to do, Absorb was the only one that did everything.

It is also well designed, from the backend as well, other LMS systems can feel slow and sluggish, Absorb is fast

Absorb LMS is a Winner

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We partnered with Absorb LMS to develop a client-facing learning platform that will address talent and skill gaps in our industry. Our use case is a mix of internal and external, but it's primarily external. Because of that, we place a priority on user experience, a clean purchasing experience, and a learner-centered approach. Absorb LMS, in our opinion, had the best user experience for learners.

Pros

  • Implementation, Training, and Support
  • User Experience
  • Features and Service Offering
  • Collaborative

Cons

  • N/A

Likelihood to Recommend

Honestly, I think Absorb LMS is a great fit for any organization looking for a learning management system. It's scalable for growing organizations and it has great features for large organizations. I love that we have a trusted partner who specializes in the user's experience, so that we can focus on the learner. To us, we chose Absorb because they had a better, more modern user interface, and we felt like it would resonate with our learners. While our use is primarily external facing, this would be perfect for internal uses as well. I think Absorb LMS can be useful to teams across all industries and organization sizes. Essentially, if you need a learning management system, then this is a great solution.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

DelMonte Hotel Group uses Absorb as a core part of our training and development strategy. We use the platform for new hire training, management training, and annual compliance training. One business problem Absorb addressed for us was the need for a centralized, consistent, and trackable learning environment for all our associates. We operate locations across five different states and have the platform track compliance of our associates learning was key. Prior to the platform we were using several different training methods such as bizlibary, YouTube, and documents saved on a local drive. Having all the training in one place now makes the onboarding and training processes so much easier for our managers.

Pros

  • Platform Design is user friendly (Admin, manager, and learners)
  • Client Success Managers are knowledgeable and effective
  • Great implementation team
  • Reporting

Cons

  • Create Tool – I just think right now there are some better products on the market. However if you are new to content creation this is a very effective tool.

Likelihood to Recommend

I would highly recommend Absorb. From the implementation team and then the handoff to our client support manager the customer support alone makes it worthy of my recommendation. I have never built/managed an LMS platform before and I find it very user friendly and capable of doing 98% of what I need it to do. We have been in the system almost a year and one of the struggles I had using the reporting tool has already been resolved and updated.

Good for users and global remote areas.

Rating: 8 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Absorb LMS for selection and data management, valuing its ability to host online learning and interact globally. It's user-friendly for learners, offering offline access without Wi-Fi. However, admin usability is complex and could improve. Initial setup was positive, thanks to onboarding support.

Pros

  • Offline usage.
  • Ability to link to online platforms.
  • AI creation.

Cons

  • Admin usability.
  • Global messaging bulk.
  • Grid lines when using create.

Likelihood to Recommend

I appreciate that Absorb LMS is user-friendly from our users' perspective. Our users find it easy to navigate and use, even without an active Wi-Fi connection, as they can log in offline and complete programs. This functionality greatly enhances accessibility and flexibility for learners. Furthermore, the initial setup with Absorb LMS was notably positive. The onboarding experience provided by the LMS team was helpful and was further enhanced when we received support from our dedicated service manager, ensuring a smoother implementation process. I find the admin usability of Absorb LMS to be challenging. It's quite a complicated system to understand, with a steep learning curve. There's constantly something new to learn about how it operates, which can be overwhelming. Overall, it could be more user-friendly.

Engaging Learning with AI Features Needs Better Document Integration

Rating: 8 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I have been using Absorb LMS for almost two years to train staff and manage compliance courses. Before Absorb, we were using documents in SharePoint for download & signature for certifying that the information was administered. The Absorb LMS efficiently saves time with detailed course information and keeps learners engaged with AI voice features.

Pros

  • AI voice generation
  • Absorb Create
  • Assigning courses at different levels

Cons

  • Some of the changes in layouts and fonts when PowerPoint documents are uploaded to Absorb LMS
  • How to , name, run, and export reports could be a bit more simple

Likelihood to Recommend

I appreciate the AI voice features in Absorb LMS as they play a crucial role in keeping learners engaged, especially when there is a significant amount of detail involved in the courses. It's less appropriate for classified learning as many documents cannot be held on outside servers. Those courses are administered in a secure site.

Great Experience - Wonderful Guest Service

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I am using Absorb LMS for my independent HR Business to create trainings for small to medium sized businesses. I will be selling my courses to leaders in these buildings so that they can have detailed trainings for their teams. I like that Absorb LMS is user friendly and has a lot of tracking mechanisms in place for both me and the company owner/leader. I really enjoyed working with my implementation Manager [...]. She was amazing and made the process easy and worry free. There is a lot to learn but she was very detailed in her recaps and problem solving. I now feel I can operate the system fairly seamlessly and it is also very customizable which I really appreciated.

Pros

  • Implementation Support
  • Training within the system
  • Making training fun and intuitive

Cons

  • When logging into the training, necessary to minimize

Likelihood to Recommend

I appreciate the fact that the system is fairly intuitive and they make course creation very simple. It is easy to edit and it has a ton of functions. You can include pictures, videos, quizzes, certifications, and so much more. It is not a cheap system so it is likely not going to be a purchase for a smaller organization but if trying to reach larger audiences it is likely a perfect fit. Especially if you want something that is more customizable.

Absorb is great

Rating: 8 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use it to deliver training to external and internal parties. It solves business problems like executing compliance training to meet SOC2 and other requirements, deploying training to consultants at scale, and providing training for external market actors. We currently provide training for around 550 individual users, although that will likely grow.

Pros

  • Customized completion reporting
  • Custom LMS templates
  • User impersonation

Cons

  • Flexibility in updating the code of templates
  • Billboard photo logic rules/department availability
  • User interface for editing courses page - very confusing for someone without much experience

Likelihood to Recommend

Absorb is particularly well suited to making detailed adjustments to a particular course, like enrollment/nudge email cadence, content, course image, and other settings. It is less appropriate if you are trying to do something very customized, like create a template for a client that goes beyond the settings available in the Absorb template settings.
